Angel Of Mine
by Agent Spooky
TRINITY HOSPITAL
WASHINGTON, D.C.
02:13 a.m.
Scully lay sleeping in her hospital bed. The door to her room
squeaks a little when it's opened but it's enough to wake her
up. A man dressed in white comes in.
"Hello, Dana." The man says, then sits on the chair by her bed.
She sits up, suspicious creeping in her voice. "I'm sorry, but
isn't it a little late to make a medical visit?"
"I am not a doctor."
She was preparing to push the little button by her bed to call the
nurse when the man spoke again. "It's no use doing that. They won't
hear it."
But she pressed the button anyway. When no one came, she spoke again.
"Who are you? Are you with Them?"
"I'm with Him," he said looking down at the golden cross on her neck.
How did this looney get in here, Scully thought irritably.
"I am not crazy, Dana. I was sent here to give you a message."
"Who are you?" She said, repeating her earlier question.
"My name is Michael and you don't have to be afraid."
"I'm not afraid of you."
"You don't have to be afraid for him. Mulder."
"What are you talking about?" She said in a small voice, because
she knew exactly what he was talking about.
"You're afraid that you will no longer be here to watch his
back."
Hearing the thoughts that until that point resided only inside
her head brought tears to her eyes.
"You are not afraid of leaving this life. You are afraid of
leaving him."
She wiped her tears away but remained silent. He continued on.
"That's why I'm here, Dana. To tell you you don't have to be
afraid. You will always be Mulder's guardian angel. You will
always be by his side."
"I want to believe that." She said in a teary voice.
"Then believe. You won't be with him physically, but your
spirts will always be connected and this bond even death
can't break."
Scully felt like a very heavy weight was lifted from her
shoulders. She felt like after ages she could finally sleep
peacefully.
The man smiled, got up from the chair and said: "I'll see you
soon."
She nodded and with a last smile, he left. Not two seconds after
the door closed it was opened again. A nurse came rushing into
the room.
"Yes, dear. What do you need?"
Scully looked at her puzzled. The nurse gave her a patient smile.
"You press that button, didn't you dear?"
"Oh, yes, I did. But that was almost half an hour ago."
"Dana it wasn't even half a minute ago. As soon as that little light
went on I came here." The nurse looked at her a little worried.
"Are you okay? Do you need anything?"
Scully just smiled. "No, someone already gave me what I needed."
